After School Program
KALO offers many different after school workshops and activities for our keiki attending Kanu o ka ʻĀina NCPCS as well as to the keiki in our community.  Most are free of charge, unless otherwise noted.   
After School Keiki Care
Days:     Monday to Friday 
Time:      2:30pm - 5:30pm (Mon - Thu)
               12:00pm - 5:30pm (Friday)
Grades:   Kindergarten to 5th grade
Location: Kauhale ʻŌiwi o Puʻukapu 
Monthly Rate: $200 per month
Daily Rate: 
  • Monday to Thursday: $14 per day (2:30pm - 5:30pm)   
  • Friday: $30 (12pm - 5:30pm)
This is an after school child care program for the keiki attending Kanu o ka ʻĀina NCPCSl, and our Waimea community children. A typical afternoon will include an afternoon snack, some play time outside, and assistance with homework.  Fridays activities will include computer lab activities, field games, art projects, healthy snack preparation, music, etc. For more information please call: 808-890-2500 or email:  info@kalo.org
Waikaunu Hula
Days: Mondays (keiki), Wednesdays (Advanced/Adult)
Time: 3:30pm-Mondays, 6:00pm-Wednesdays
Location: Halau Hoʻolako, ʻOluʻolu Room
Rate: FREE
Instructor/Kumu: Nicole Anakalea
Waikaunu is a hula program affiliated with the Hawaiʻi Community College Hawaiian Lifestyles Program: Unukupukupu.  This program also teaches participants to exhibit the discipline and humility that are at the core of the Hawaiian culture.  For more information please email Nicole at: nanakalea@yahoo.com
